Listen to your heart, follow your intuition, what does your gut say? How many times have you heard these statements from others, from yourself? It sounds good, makes sense even, but when it comes down to it, you have no idea what your gut is telling you. You’re conflicted and struggling to make to decisions while multiple voices fight inside your head. Which voice is which and how do you even begin to know how to find the correct one?
I know you’ve been there…a big decision lies in front of you and the more you think about it, the more confused you get. It almost feels like you’re playing mind games with yourself, unable to decipher fear vs. wisdom. In your attempt at clarity, you end up feeling stuck and unsure what step to take to move forward.
Most likely, this isn’t the first time you’ve experienced this and it won’t be the last. The thing is, the longer you ignore your inner wisdom or abandon your true self, the harder it gets to connect to that voice and hear its guidance. The less you trust those intuitive impulses, allowing doubts and confusion to stop you in your tracks.
The good news though… It’s never too late to create a powerful connection with your intuitive knowing!
Just like any other skill in life, the more you practice, the better you get. This is no different.
So, how do you begin to strengthen your connection to your intuition?
1. Clean up your diet - This is essential and often overlooked in discussions such as these. Processed foods, sugars, and alcohol create a toxicity within you that makes you cloudy and disconnected. You know those times you eat and then feel like taking a nap or get triggered into a fog? We have all had this experience, and when you think about it, being tired or in a fog eats up your energy and stands in the way of clarity. Cleaning up your diet allows you to create a clear channel within your body so that you can attune to your intuitive voice and deep knowing.
2. Get to know your voices - Start paying attention to the distinctions of your intuitive voice. What does it sound like, where in your body do you feel is come from, and what physical sensations accompany it. You will notice over time that your intuitive voice is very different from the voices of your internal critic, your mind, and even your heart. For example, my intuition comes from behind me and expands forward through my lower solar plexus. I feel an opening or fullness and feel very grounded.
3. Remember to pause - Make a commitment to practice pausing before answering or making any decisions. It can be all too easy to skip over those initial moments and miss out on gut responses that are physically felt in your body. Allow yourself the opportunity to check in and listen internally. Those impulses that you’ll often hear or feel right away are powerful indicators of your intuitive voice.
Learning to tune into your intuition is a game changer. It is the key to empowering yourself to live the life you desire to live. There is no right or wrong way, only the way of your soul. Learn to tune in so you can truly follow the path your soul desires you to take.
With love and joy,
